Meteorologists Welcome Newest Cloud Type

Cumulus, nimbus, stratus, cirrus…asperatus? First “discovered” in 2009, scientists have finally named this dramatic and rare cloud occurence as Undulatus Asperatus.

yeah this is awesome but I actually kind of hope I never see it irl because just looking at these pictures freaks the shit out of me

(so does looking at artist’s renderings of extraterrestrial horizons and the big tsunami scene in the day after tomorrow and the sound of airplanes flying over)

I got the “Geography Geek of the Year” award in Grade 12. I am freaking out about this and it’s 2:17AM. Reblog so I can look into this when it’s not 2:17AM.
